Formation: Shotgun Normal
Play: PA Read
Playbook: Indianapolis

Steps (first setup)
1) Hot-route right outside WR on a slant to the left
2) Keep the HB into block
3) Motion right outside WR half a step for free release

This play is built to destroy man coverage with the overflow of crossing routes, and with the addition of the blue-route as a bail-out read as the play breaks down. This is a spectacular play against man coverage based defenses.

Why it works:

The reason why this play is so effective is the over-abundance of crossing routes working man coverage. A pick sets one of these WRs free, combined with the unique crossing slant routes the initial play set up has with the left outside and slot WRs. These unique crossing routes pop open free against man coverage. Add in the blue route, and we have a gem of a money play.

Note: Against zone make sure you roll out the same side as the blue route as rolling out against a zone defense sucks in the coverage in this years game.

Steps (Second setup)
1) Hot-route RB on a slant to the left
2) Motion RB half a step for free slant release (post-patch RB slants)

Reads
1) HB slant
2) middle slants
3) crooked streak rocket catch
4) blue route

This setup is great because it attacks all areas of the field, and will work against man or zone defenses. We have a very quick initial read with the RB slanting out the backfield, which can beat the blitz and also creates a crossing route opportunity with the slot WR running a slant across the middle of the field. We then have the left outside WR working deeper in the middle of the field with a deeper slant. The right outside WR is on a crooked streak which as we pointed out to you earlier in the year is an easy rocket catch opportunity about 15-30 yards down the field with a pass-lead throw to the sideline and the holding down of the right stick. Last but not least we have our bail-out blue route which can create great yards after catch opportunities or save you from a sack.
