K Starrs Pittsburgh Offensive Guide

This is a great play that can beat man or zone defenses, along with the blitz. We have the RB route which is on a unique flat that will be a great quick read against zone defenses and man blitzes.
This formation is one of the deadliest in the game and is filled with untapped potential. Look at it, this is actually one of those NCAA formations that people always say to themselves, “wow, if only this formation were in madden…”
This is a great attacking defense in this years game with good coverage everywhere. Outside heat seems for whatever reason, to always give players the most problems even more so then A-gap pressure seems to do
There’s an unlimited amount of ways you can adjust out of this one play, and with the proper adjustments, anything can be stopped.
With so many plays that are used to destroy zone coverage this year, your opponent is most likely going to throw in some man coverage to try to stop you.
The y-trips formation in Pittsburgh is amongst the best in the game.
Play: HB slip screen
Formation: Y-trips weak
Setup:
1) Place outside left WR on slant to right
2) Place slot WR on slant to the left
3) Place right outside WR on smart routed out route
4) Roll-right on zone
Reads:
1) Flat route by TE
2) Crossing routes
3) HB screen
4) Rocket out route
Why it works:
The reason why this play is so deadly [...]
The play works because of the motion-slant requiring attention on both sides of the field, as you could do it to either receiver out of the shotgun big set.
This setup is great because it attacks all areas of the field, and will work against man or zone defenses.
In shotgun TIGHT, you can motion the outside corner route on a smart routed corner or a slant to the right and hike it before he fully sets. This will MURDER bump and run coverage because the defender won’t be able to effectively jam the wideout in motion, leaving the defender in the dust.
Remember the Madden 09 Curl? It’s officially back. If you have the time to throw this route…
What we’ve done here is incorporate a coverage based defense with the same look as Strong Roll 3 to confuse the offense and to put them in a trap so to speak.
The reason why this dime defense works is because of the outside heat that’s brought at a more aggressive rate because of where we moved the blitzing corners.
Here’s our first of two setups. In this setup we have a play that combines dots with a rocket catch opportunity. Out of 2 back most people like to send pressure, so our reads must be quick, and right.
