Beat Any Defense From Shotgun 4WR Sets

Play: Shotgun 4 wr — Slot Outs
Playbooks: Multiple

Setup:

step 1) Slant slot WRs to form crossing routes over middle of the field
step 2) Flip the play, Hot route RB on drag route, flip the play back

Why it works:

By forcing the defense to account for three different ares of the field we really force them to adjust to us. If they don’t do so, it’s a long night for them. Even if they take away out first and second read, we can still go up top for the rocket catch on the outside.

K Starr’s Thoughts:

The reason why this play has caught my attention is because of the streaks.  Pay close attention to them, notice how they’re crooked and go more to the sideline?  What this means it’s an easy rocket catch opportunity with the right stick.

Right away if we’re being faced with pressure we have the RB out the backfield with the easy dot that beats many blitzes.  We also have the two slot WRs slanting which should be the next read.  Last but not least we have our RC opportunity with either one of the two crooked streaks for an easy rocket with the right stick.  You throw the ball about 15 yards down the field and hold down on the right stick.  Obviously having bigger WRs on the outside makes this tremendously easier and much less of a risk.

As the year progresses, it only seems as if the RC will have more of an impact in tourny games this year as it always seems to do.  While it’s not necessary, it will further open up your offense to endless possibilities.  There are all kinds of RC routes in the game that we will help you identify through out the year to try to add to your offensive aresenal.

really? no, that RC can be stopped no offense so your not breaking down a cover 3 with this unless you hit those slants.

in the video you said kstarr has a tip on doing the RC, I couldn’t find it can you tell where to find it?

  3. Jason says:

A cover 2 will dominate this play, especially out of the 3-4 because the outside backers will drop zone into purple which contains the rocket, and if someone audibles a defensive lineman into a hook zone it will take away the slants for a while, but it all depends on how patient you can be in the pocket.
