Delayed Bump N Run Blitz

Playbook - 46

Setup:

Step 1 - Come out in any zone coverage defense from 46
Step 2 – Call Bump and Run Coverage (Y+Down on the left stick)
Step 3 - Audible to 46 Bear Sam Snake
Step 4 - Place the MLB (currently in man coverage) into the right A gap
Step 5 - Playmaker him to blitz (Select him, then press A+Down on the Right Stick)

Last week we showed you how to disguise a delayed bump and run coverage by coming out in any zone play, pressing the coverage, then audibling to man. This week we’re combining that same logic with a quick blitz up the A Gap. The offense suspects a zone coverage, and won’t necessarily expect heat as there aren’t many zone blitzes out right now, especially from 46.

The heat from the MLB comes untouched up the A Gap. Even if the offense slide protects down, we have a rusher coming off the edge on the right side of the screen. You can either manually rush with this defense, or user control your safety.

Final Thoughts:

You can use this concept to confuse the Offense with any combination of zone and man coverage. Remember that you have to come out in zone, press the coverage, then audible to a man defense. Combine this with your favorite blitz to really force the QB to make a decision he wasn’t expecting in under 2 seconds.
