Double Sluggo

Play: Gun Doubles Wing TE
Playbook: New England

Setup:

1. Drag route or slant your TE to the left
2. Put left outside receiver on slant to the right
3. Put right receiver on a streak
4. Keep RB on the blue route

Jet’s Thoughts:
This is another great crossing route play. It has many different routes, which are both able to beat man and zone. The two outside routes look good but, I promise they are not. By putting one on a slant it provides you with another crossing route. Then by putting one on a streak it clears the zones and can also be used to rocket catch. The slot route cannot be guarded in man-to-man coverage. I like plays like this because they have so many options.

Why It Works:
This play is so good mainly because of the slot WR and the RB. Both routes destroy man-to-man coverage, and if they are in zone they still can be open. Plus by using these hot routes it makes the play very hard to stop even if you know it’s coming. Your sending out all five guys and one of them is on a delay route so in case the defense blitzes it also provides you with protection.
