Part 1 of 4 Play Mini-Scheme

qbdrawbig

Play: WR screen
Playbook: Pitt
Formation: Trio

Steps
1. Substitute your fastest receiver so he is at the number one spot, or just package him in number one in the formation trio.
2. Streak your running back.
3. Put your tight end on a slant left
4. Put the inside left receiver on a drag
5. Put your middle slot receiver on a slant right.
6. Block your far left receiver
7. Motion your far left receiver into the a gap and call hike
8. Slide protect up (optional) or slide protect left or right if there stacking the middle.

Mr 610’s Thoughts:

This is easily as deadly as derwy’s qb draw from Dallas. To maximize the potential of this play, I would use Vince Young or Pat White. I wouldn’t Michael Vick because of his 44 carry rating. I would run this play down my opponents throat until they are committing there entire defense to stop it, which is the only way to stop it.

Why It Works:

As most of you know, screen passes give you instant control of the quarterback, but people thought it didn’t matter because on most screens there are linemen that pull away, making a draw impossible. Well in this screen pass, no linemen pull, making the original QB draw alive and well again. The blocking on this play is ridiculous. The slant/streak/drag combo maximizes the blocking, and on top of that you have a blocker in the a gap which stops people screaming up the middle. If they overload the middle to stop you, simply run to the sidelines. The trio formation in my mind is one of the best formations in the game, so adding this draw to a scheme in this formation makes it unstoppable. The great part about this is, it’s a screen pass so you can come to the line of scrimmage, and quick snap the screen and get crazy yardage. The defense can’t run zone or the screen is wide open, and once you draw them they will completely forget about the screen.

Just when you thought this play couldn’t get ANY better, it has. Since you have instant control of the quarterback and no linemen pull, you can hot route your receivers whichever way you want, and give the defense hell without a drop back. Easily the most abused things this year has been the flats. People roll out all day and hit the flats. Because of the auto drop back, you can blitz somebody and not let them roll out. With this play that’s literally impossible. Just hot route your receivers to do routes in the flats, then you have instant control of your qb to roll out and hit them. You can run this one play every single time and the defense won’t know what’s coming because you now have a QB draw, a screen, and any passing play you want with whatever route combos you like all in one play.

So wait, you’re telling me the only way to stop this is to hopefully guess which play is coming? Or like fake blitz? Like honestly I labbed this and it’s really unstoppable.

  2. MaddenKing473 says:

WOW!!!! This is a crazy tip, the QB draw is alive and well!!!! Great work.

  3. ALLMADDEN says:

to bad thats illegal in tournaments. i’ve never heard of a event that allowed ppl to snap the ball with a man in motion between the tackles

  4. Mr610 says:

This is 100% legal. And if you don’t want to qb draw read the last paragraph. You can run this 1 play all game. No tournaments ban that motion

  5. xfactorrrr says:

yes, why did they post something thats illegal in tourneys?

  6. Mr610 says:

It’s perfectly legal guys!! And this isn’t just a qb draw read the whole thing!!! This is only part 1 also!!

  7. Charles says:

Mr610, I realize this is legal. That being said, since this is only part 1, how in the WORLD do you stop this?

  8. Br3akdown says:

I ran a scheme off this this play as well but with a very dfferent setup that also lts you abuse the flats.
Slant both slot recevers and streak/slant the te.
The te is a uick red/ rc later. Rolling out to the right will open the slants and as a bail out chris johnson is on the flat route that is easy yardage. Plus you still have the screen sittng there.

  9. Mr610 says:

You really can’t. Because once you commit your defense to stop the draw, I’ll hot route my recievers on routes and roll out and hit them. This play gives the qb instant control so I can roll out and hit the flats all day !

  10. Mr610 says:

Breakdown, that’s what my last paragraphs about, you can make it any play you want! This is making it the best qb draw in the game

  11. xfactorrrr says:

this is NOT legal. Your qb MUST take 1 step back. This QB DRAW is ILLEGAL.

  12. j-ferg says:

u only neeed one step back for shotty.so yeah its legal unless u take off with the ball

  13. Br3akdown says:

I agree 610. We should lab sometime.

  14. Mr610 says:

    Factor yes it is lol

  15. Kstarr says:

  16. Jason says:

GUYS! Like OMG this is so legal! Instead of actuallying trying to play football, just abuse this ONE play all game long and then after you win talk so much trash about how much better you are at a FOOTBALL game than the other guy…pathetic
