Prospect Watch: CatchinInTraffic

Catchin caught our eye at the Big City Hall Of Fame tournament last month. The night before the tournament in the hotel, we walked from room to room watching the guys play the prime time games where there’s no censorship, and no limits. In one of those rooms we saw a young, timid Madden gamer that nobody knew. Sure he didn’t speak much, but his presence spoke louder than anything he could’ve said.

This kid, a random at the time to most, walked right into the hotel room of one of the loudest crews on the tournament scene and laid a challenge down to ConVinced. Right then he showed his moxy to the Madden community. He lost a close game to Vince, but we remembered the name.

AskMadden (AM): Why did you start playing Madden?
CatchinInTraffic(CIT): I always loved the hype and competitivness of all sports, especially football. When Madden Nation came on TV, I saw that they had the same competitive nature as me. I started playing Madden ‘09, but never really explored the tournament scene.

AM: How did you find the competitive Madden scene?
CIT:I started playing in Madden ‘09. I started on GameBattles, and when I found out that all the players were migrating over to money matches, I found a perfect place for competition. When I started beating some of the known tournament players, I felt I had a chance at winning a tournament.

AM: So it was strictly online for you until the HOF Tournament?
CIT: Pretty much. I went to a couple local tournaments and dominated, so I decided to make it out to the Big City Tournament. Once I got there, I found out that luck can carry over from online to live tournaments.

AM: What’s your play style?
CIT: On offense I like to have a lot of quick reads to soften up the defense, and when the pressure isn’t put on my QB, I git you with a rocket catch down field. On defense I bring intense pressure with great coverage adjustments. I can’t say that I’m offensive minded or defensive minded, but I can say that I’m very creative on both sides of the ball.

AM: Any predictions for the rest of this Madden season?
CIT: I like New Era to win the crew vs. crew tournament, and the best defensive player to win Playersbowl.
