Prospect Watch: EMB's Joke

Starting casually online like majority of the Madden community has, EMB’s Joke has quickly shown that he can hang with the biggest names in the Madden community. Joke spent two years online perfecting his skills against some of the highest ranked ballers before running out of room for growth.

In the Madden ‘09 season, Joke finally decided to pit his skills against some of the game’s elite in a live setting. He traveled out to King of the Couch(KOTC)’s first tournament, finishing second to only Dynasty — the ‘09 man of the year.

Joke on the tournament: “I had to really go through some of the stiffest competition in Madden. I had to beat Evil O, Casper, Clutch, Litez Out, and Big Game James before reaching Dynasty in the finals.”

Although Joke came up a bit short in this tournament, he caught the eye of an group of Madden players. Elite Madden Ballers (EMB) saw the potential in the rookie. Based on skill and a gutsy performance against the best Madden player in the world, EMB invited Joke to join their camp. From there Joke exploded his skills and continued to have respectable finishes in the KOTC series, though he never got over the hump.

Joke: Battle tested by the best, and hungry to improve.

“EMB really helped elevate my game to a new level. Without those guys I couldn’t of continued to grow as rapidly as I have.” EMB, known for turning out multiple Madden Challenge winners, as well as TV personalities, polished the rough edges.

Joke went on to finish in a tie for first place at the very next KOTC event he traveled to. Confident in his game, and the respect of the East Coast, Joke arrived at the largest non-sanctioned event in the Madden season, the “Players Bowl.” Bad luck struck, and Joke finished in the top 32. Showing the resolve of a champion, Joke picked himself back up and finished yet again in second place at the KOTC event to Dynasty’s protege, Lil Man.

Content on his first year on the scene, Joke looks ahead to Madden ‘10.

“I want to finally get a win at a KOTC event” says Joke. Adding “I also want to really take Players Bowl down as well. I feel as if I let me and my crew down last year.”

Joke’s ultimate goal in Madden ‘10 is to win a Madden Challenge city, or whatever may come from the EA Sports/MLG rumors.

Essentially born and raised out of the EMB camp, we don’t think Joke is kidding around this coming Madden season.
