The Madden Blueprint

Dynasty, Prodigy, KStar – how did these superior madden players reach the apex of their game? How did these players go from being average to being on Madden Nation and winning tournaments on an annual basis? These questions are constantly asked by the typical madden player. Now, the secrets are out and the blueprint has been drawn. If you want your questions answered and your path to being elite uncovered, this read is necessary.

When talking to these eminent players, each player emphasized the fact that a person has to have an ability to be consistent, not only on offense but on defense as well. Prodigy stressed consistency when saying:

“Constantly switching playbooks and schemes only slows you down in the long run.  Obviously you must adapt to the year as it evolves, but find something works consistently…and build a game plan around it, and perfect it.”

Prodigy brings up another point that bridges the gap from being average to being elite: perfection. The cliché phrase, “practice makes perfect,” is entirely true in this sense. In order to be the best, in order to succeed at a high level, and in order to make a name for yourself, it is vital that you are entirely prepared going into a game. When practicing, although there are the hot strategies that players leach of off, the well known strategy can be implemented in your own scheme. As Kstar said:

“There are always great ways to get better, and throughout the year hot concepts will come up that you can/should apply to your game while adding your own spin to it to your scheme.  By doing that you can still be original and getting better by more tournament experience.”

Of course a player can have the best scheme in the world, but in order to throw your name among the greatest, attending tournaments is the only way to achieve this goal. In fact, these three players stated they became better players by going to tournaments year round. When asked about the origin of his success, Prodigy responded:

“Just going to Madden Challenges…and winning, honestly.  Other than those I haven’t been able to go many other tourneys so I had to make the most of my opportunities.  You are judged based on what you’ve done; my accomplishments are all I have.”

The typical average madden player looks upon these names and may think they have these “insane” plays. In reality, the only thing insane about them is their ability to be consistent. By playing well-known players, incorporating some of the hot strategy, and developing a unique spin on your game; the potential to be known as one of the greatest is unlimited. However, if you desire to be the best, you have to be driven and hungry.

“Pure hunger, I wanted to be the best in this game so badly and there was nothing that was going to stop me from putting in time to get my name out there as one of the best players in madden.”

Great article! It’s nice to hear that I can be good with any playbook. Many people tell me the best playbooks and I just use them. A lot of the answers are the same. Once in a while you’ll get an oddball and wonder why. It just hit me…this is what they know and they know how to use it well. Like the Bucs/Colts making the Tampa 2 work. Many teams have tried to duplicate it and failed but Tony Dungy knew what he needed to make them work. I feel like starting all over and going back to the playbooks that gave me great OFFLINE success and making it better for online. THANK YOU!!
